For style and panache the VK-1 from Aedle is top notch and full of verve and its a closed headphone that I can really enjoy with just about every genre due to that clean and clear mid range, sibilant free treble and extremely well engineered and slamming bass. This is definitely one of the more coherent closed cans I have had the pleasure to listening to of late. The fit and cable issues hold it back a little for me and that is something Aedle I hope will address in time. However for a first time effort there is a lot to love about this can with character.
The ultimate question though is can it carve out a successful niche in the headphone market to come back with a V2, 3 etc. I certainly hope so and from what I see Aedle are aiming for the fashion and high end clothing industry as a secondary accessory which is a well known route for success with a few other companies. The VK-1s is more for enjoyment than monitoring but as an audiophile I honestly think this is a headphone that audiophiles can appreciate and enjoy.
