Headfonics was established in April 2011 with a mission to bring independently researched and written format subjective reviews covering all aspects of the portable and desktop audio scene.
Headfonics originated from the now-defunct Filipino national forum called Headphiles which operated from 2008 to around 2014.
Our initial scope was on a domestic level but we have now grown to include experienced team members from around the world including the likes of Switzerland, Germany, Australia, SEA, and the United States Of America. You can read in more detail about our team and the reviews they have done to date here.
Our target markets include most English-speaking nations but primarily the US Market, hence most of the indicative pricing in our reviews is stated in US dollar formats.
Our key audience is the portable audio-focused audiophile community with budgets ranging from entry-level to high-end.
You can also find our presence on social media under the following channels:
Products covered by Headfonics include headphones, amplifiers, earphones & IEMs, as well as sources including DAPs and DACs. We have also recently added new sections on wireless products such as TWS.
All our reviews contain comparative assessments of competing products, real-world usage commentary, insights into how the products work, how they sound, and what makes them unique.
On occasion, particularly if a product is a generation 2 model, we will provide specific comparison work to show how the new version has evolved from the old version.
We assess based on how the manufacturer is pitching the product and whether or not it meets its goals and importantly, who in our reader base would like it and who would not. Some of our reviews, such as DAP reviews, also provide qualitative measurements such as speed ratings and signal strength tests for wireless connectivity.
Most of our reviews come with scores and you can read up on how we score in more detail here.
Headfonics is not an affiliate marketing or an influencer website. We are a 100% independent company. We do not directly profit from any of the reviews we do and all links on the reviews are merely guidelines to help you research more on the manufacturer or the specific company that sent us the sample for review.
We publish original content on average 3-4 times a week as well as share it via social media shortly thereafter.
