The A83 Hybrid IEM by Fidue

I had my battles with the A83 but when I got my matching right (DuoAmp or X3) I actually found this to be a technically excellent hybrid IEM for treble heads and detail freaks without any hint of being sterile or possessing a bland monitor like presentation. Fidue have tuned this specifically to be coherent, clean and agile as opposed to being bassy, slow and mellow. The dynamic driver is not for show. It is tight and snappy with a coherent response enabling the A83 to display an admiral degree of flexibility on some genres like trance, or house that needs a top end sparkle and a snappy bass.

The A83 is not without its quirks though. There are certainly those who are going to prefer the Westone or UE900 sound over the more strident and forward A83. It doesn’t fit the general tapered top end consumer profile and poorer lossy tracks can be chewed-up and spit out rather too easily. There are also those who will adore the unusual but eloquent design but others who might deem it a bit too loud and forceful. One thing is for sure the A83 is not the type of earphone that will elicit a ‘meh’ response.
